We very much enjoyed the tour of arequipa and had a great guide. But the trip to the colca canyon left a whole lot to be desired. We thought we were booking a trip that was run by TreXperience, but instead we were on a tour with people from many different travel agencies. They were 14 of us in the group, including both French and English so everything had to be translated into both languages. However we very much enjoyed the people on the group and that worked well.
The lunch on the first day left a lot to be desired and ended up with two people sick, which we think was from the food. We liked the food the second day and would recommend a change from the first day.
The part of the tour that we disliked the most was the fact that we were at six different hotels for 14 of us. So we had to drop people off at different hotels in different cities and then pick them up again the next morning. It was a huge waste of time and I think we all would have preferred to have been together and at one or two hotels so that we didn't spend hours driving around. It makes no sense at all that each person ended up at a different hotel. We were put at coca Lodge which was wonderful, but it was quite a drive and put everybody out. Yet others were in two separate towns and amongst all of us it took quite some time for the driving. For this reason alone we would not recommend this tour at all. We did see the Condors and the area in general was beautiful and we felt that we got to see what we went for. Elena was a good guide and worked hard to take care of all of us, but the structure of the general tour just does not make sense. I highly recommend that you change this so that people are not allowed to stay at so many different hotels. There must be a better way.
Although it was a long day, it was well worth the trip. It was made very special with a great guide and a wonderful lunch after our hike. It was a bit cloudy but we still were able to see the mountain but the valley itself was amazing. Pedro was a great guide and made sure that we got up the mountain. We then came down to a fabulous lunch set up inside of a tent with hand-washing stations, flowers everything you could want. It made it extra special. I would recommend it to anyone!
After having problems with a previous travel company, Trexperience were amazing. Very responsive by email from the start and made the whole process so smooth and easy for us. Our 2 day Inca trail tour was a great experience. Our group of people were all lovely and our tour guides Monica and Pedro were the best we have ever had. Both so knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer questions, with a great sense of humour too! The hike was hard but everyone was in good spirits. The best trip, I couldn’t recommend to people enough - especially Monica and Pedro, who really went above and beyond for us.
First of all, Roger our guide was amazing. He was very patient. Told us all the detail we needed for the next day and very informal about the sites we were saying. The whole team including the porters and the chefs were incredible. The food we were served up was 11 out of 10 and the porters just really hard work workers an amazing people. We were comfortable in our tense and nice and warm highly recommend this Tour.
We did the four-day Inca trail and highly recommend TreXperience. They handled all the details including airport transfers, tours, hotel, hike, train from Macchu Picchu and care for our vegetarian diet. They made it so easy and created a magical experience for us. Guide Jose Luis and his assistant Sergio were excellent. Their knowledge and passion of the area and history were beyond compare. They made sure we were taken care of and even used detective skills to track down our lost iPhone which we got back! Definitely book if you're on the fence!
